• Ground and slabs: check for drains, manholes, backfilled trenches and podium slabs. Confirm slab capacity with your engineer before a heavy boom travels on it.
• Permits and traffic: if the boom will stand on a road or pavement, arrange permits, barricades and a ground person well before delivery day.
• Weather: afternoon thunderstorms build quickly. Bring the platform down if lightning is near or wind picks up beyond the machine’s rated limit.
